Newcastle’s first and foremost Asian Wedding Exhibition. The Asian Wedding Exhibition 2009 took place in February in the awe inspiring grand hall of Kirkly Hall.
The one-day extravaganza combined creativity, style, inspiration and glamour, making it a one-stop-shop for all your wedding needs.The range of exhibitors included beauticians and mehendi artists, Wedding stages and mandaps, florists, fashion designers, caterers, venues, photographers, wedding coordinators. This was the annual Diwali party held by the above organisations. Even though this event is to celebrate an Indian festival of Diwali it also is marketed to the community at large and other South Asian communities. Every year the event attracts a very diverse range of people who attend the event form all backgrounds and faiths. The whole event is one of the most community cohesive events in the events calendar on Tyneside. |

| Newcastle Asian Arts and Music is a voluntary organisation that was formed in April 1993. Its main aim is to promote Asian arts, music and culture within Newcastle and the North East region. The main emphasis in N.A.A.M activities is upon the provision of a safe and supportive environment, therefore allowing the opportunities for all the community members to fully participate in events such as the Mela. |
